Dr Barry S Garcia, DO, FAOASM

Dr Garcia has been doing Regenerative Medicine for over 10 years.  He started with prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma (PRP).  Over the past 5 years he has been studying mesenchymal stem cells in an attempt to develop the best program available.  He has studied with the Interventional Orthopedic Foundation, the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine, The Orthobiological Institute, and The Regenerative Medicine Training Institute.  He has taken additional courses with the Gulf Coast Ultrasound Institute, the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, and at the MSK Ultrasound and Orthobiologics Course.

He has learned from the leaders in orthopedic stem cell therapy including Chris Centeno, MD, Brian Shiple, DO, Don Buford, MD, and Paul Tortland, DO.

Ultrasound Guided Injections

Dr Garcia has extensive training in musculoskeletal ultrasound for both diagnosis and localization of injections.  He has trained at the Gulf Coast Ultrasound Institute with Jay Smith, MD and Jon Jacobson, two of the preeminent doctors in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound.  He has taken additional course with the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.  He recently completed the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Orthobiologics Course run by Don Buford, MD.

Medical studies have shown that the accuracy of the injection placement is improved with ultrasound visualization.  Additionally, there is no radiation exposure with ultrasound.
